What is wintersports travel insurance?

Winter Sports travel insurance covers you for activities such as skiing, snowboarding and ice skating. Winter sports policies will normally include medical cover for any injuries sustained whilst participating in the activity, and cover for sports equipment such as skis and snowboards.

What is a pre-existing medical condition?

If you have a medical condition which has been suffered, or for which medical advice, treatment or medication has been received prior to the date of issue of the travel insurance policy, you must declare this when taking out your policy. If it is a medical condition that was suffered over two years ago, and no further treatment is being provided, you do not normally need to declare it.

What if I am travelling to more than one country?

Will I be covered if I contract Swine Flu whilst away?

Before you travel, you should firstly make sure that you are aware of the most up-to-date Swine Flu travel advice from the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and the World Health Organisation. Both of these organisations give the very latest, official and most reliable information available. It is also important to remember that Travel Insurance policies do not cover any individual for travel to countries which the FCO and/or WHO advises against all but essential travel. For your own safety, you should always check the status of the country to which you are travelling by visiting that country information page on the FCO website.

Is dental treatment covered?

Most insurers will cover emergency dental treatment, where damage to your teeth has occurred during your trip. Pre-existing dental problems, or problems caused by wear and tear (such as cavities) will not be covered.

How many times can I travel with an Annual policy?

As many times as you like, as long as you do not exceed the limit of the trip duration specified in your policy.
